Jun 28, 2007 (newstodate): Ukraine's Odessa Airport at the Crimean Sea will be modernised and expanded.
The Ukrainean transport ministry plans to extend the airport's runway and taxiway system, implement new airfield lighting systems, and build a new passenger terminal to allow the airport to triple its passenger volumes over the coming three years.
The projects are imbedded in the government's masterplan for seven Ukrainean airports designated to be strategic airport.
Financing is being negotiated with institutions including EBRD, the World Bank, and others.
