Jun 27, 2007 (newstodate): Construction works are proceeding as planned to modernise and expand Russia's Sverdlovsk Koltsovo Airport.
The modernised domestic terminal is to be completed by October this year, and work on the airport's two runways is also soon to start, financed by federal means.
One runway is to be extended by 500 m and installed with new navigational aids and runway lighting systems, and the other runway is also to be upgraded to allow for operations of aircraft up to the size of Boeing 747.
