Jun 20, 2007 (newstodate): Estonian Air plans to set up a separate subsidiary to open up new regional routes.
Tentatively named Estonian Air Regional, the subsidiary will operate the two SAAB 340 aircraft leased by Estonian Air from SAAB Aircraft Leasing under a contract signed in April 2007.
The aircraft will be delivered in May and September, respectively, and operated from the carrier's base at Tallinn Airport.
Estonian Air is currently assessing up to 23 new destinations, including St Petersburg, and will use its regional subsidiary to open up new thin routes feeeding into the airline's hub at Tallinn Airport.
