Jun 22, 2007 (newstodate): A plan to modernise Russia's Khabarovsk Airport, one of the country's 12 principal international airports, is on the table.
The local government will invest up to 300 mio dollars in a project to upgrade the airport's infrastructure and facilities to cope with a tripling of the passenger volumes over the next 20 years.
A commission will now be established to assess the potentials and work out a plan for the modernisation.
Khabarovsk Airport, belonging to the Federal Unitary Air Enterprise Dalavia, has one 3,500 metre and one 4,000 metre runway paved with asphalt and concrete.
