Kazaeronavigatsia, has signed a contract with Thales to provide its Advanced-Surface Movement
Guidance and Control System and new navigation
aids for Almaty Airport.
The systems will provide Almaty International Airport Air Traffic Controllers with enhanced visibility on the runways, taxiways and apron areas for increased aircraft movement and safety, and ensure the airport's full compliance with ICAO standards.
An X-Band radar provided by Terma of Denmark is connected to the Thales display and processing system. The system includes ten Thales Mosquito vehicle localisation systems
including two ADS-B ground stations.
The navigation aids to be installed at Almaty include two ILS 420 with the DME 415 and one DVOR 432 with the DME 435.
