Jun 29, 2007 (newstodate): Sweden's Gothenburg Landvetter Airport reports sustained high growth figures for air cargo in 2007.
In May, total volumes grew by 23 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 5,739 tonnes of cargo including 3,133 tonnes of imports, up 15 percent, and exports up 35 percent to 2,606 tonnes.
For the first five months of 2007, totals were up by 18 percent to 27,805 tonnes including 15,024 tonnes of imports, up 11 percent, and exports 12,781 tonnes, up 28 percent.
Latest new cargo carrier to include the airport on its network is Asiana Cargo that will call at Gothenburg on the route from Incheon to Vienna on the return trip to South Korea, expectedly from the latter part of July, to lift shipments of Norwegian fresh salmon exports to the Far East.
