Jun 26, 2007 (newstodate): Despite earlier claims that the Chinese acquisition of the German airport at Scwerin would be officially completed by July 1, some stumbling blocks may still remain.
China's Ministry of Commerce has reportedly stopped the transaction as the acquisition has not been filed with relevant authorities which prevents the Chinese buyer, LinkGlobal, from completing the financial issue.
The Chinese Zhengzhou-based logistics company LinkGlobal Logistics Co acquired the airport at a price of 100,000,000 euro, intending to set up cargo and, at a later date, passenger flights.
As late as June 22, the German airport's managing director, Hermann Ertl, still confirmed to newstodate that July 1 would be the official date for the change of ownership.
