Jun 5, 2007 (newstodate): Uzbekistan Airways has decided to acquire Boeing's Dreamliner for its longhaul fleet.
On May 30, the carrier signed a document ordering two Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The aircraft will be delivered on a lease arrangement.
The carrier will also take six Airbus A320 aircraft.
With the order for Dreamliner, Uzbekistan Airways becomes the 3rd CIS customer to place orders for this aircraft type, after Azerbaijan Airlines that ordered three Boeing 787-8 and two 787-9 aircraft, and Russia's S7 Siberia Airlines that has ordered 15 Boeing 787 aircraft, with purchase rights for a further 10.
