Jun 15, 2007 (newstodate): Aeroflot now confirms that it has signed a contract with Boeing for delivery of 22 Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
The carrier will also receive 22 Airbus A350XWB, and despite the fact that this aircraft has become much delayed during the design phase, the deliveries of the two new aircraft types into Aeroflot will be almost simultaneous.
Due to Boeing's sales success for the 787, delivery slots for Aeroflot will be available only during 2014-16, while Airbus's shorter order list secures delivery slots for Aeroflot during 2014-17.
To cover the gap in longhaul aircraft capacity till then, Aeroflot will also take in 10 Airbus A330 aircraft for delivery during 2008-2010.
