May 23, 2007 (newstodate): Reflecting its success in attracting new freighter operators since the end of last year, Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda Airport reports strong cargo growth in 2007.
In April the airport generated a total of 16,148 tonnes of cargo, up no less than 28.3 percent, y-o-y.
During January-April, 2007, cargo volumes totalled 59,512 tonnes, an increase by 24.4 percent over 2006.
-We are now scaling down our marketing efforts towards the Asian carrier in order not to risk over-capacity in the market, says Bjorn Ragnebrink, LFV director air cargo development.
-With the total volumes of Asian freighters at Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Copenhagen it seems to me that the Scandinavian market is saturated, says Mr Ragnebrink.
