May 29, 2007 (newstodate): North Germany's Schwerin Airport, also named Baltic Airport Schwerin, has been acquired by a Chinese entrepreneur.
After a tender, the Chinese Zhengzhou-based logistics company, LinkGlobal Logistics Co has bought the airport at a price of 100,000,000 euro.
When a management company has been established, LinkGlobal Logistics will introduce cargo flights between Zhengzhou's Xinzheng Airport, in the Henan province, and Schwerin that is located between Hamburg and Berlin near the Baltic coast.
Passenger flights are also in the pipeline by the Chinese owner.
