May 15, 2007 (newstodate): Latvian carrier airBaltic, member of the SAS Group, has ambitions for the regional airport of Liepaja.
Effective from June 9, the carrier will start routes to Copenhagen and Hamburg, but further down the line are new routes to Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki as well.
Routes from Liepaja to destinations in neighbouring Russia are also under consideration.
