May 29, 2007 (newstodate): In May, the Hungarian lcc Wizz Air received its first of a batch of new owned Airbus A320 aircraft.
The carrier has ordered a total of 32 A320 aircraft, with options for a further 12.
Upon completion of deliveries of deliveries of all the 32 orders and activation of the 12 options, Wizz Air will be operating 53 Airbus A320 aircraft by 2011.
The airline, now operating a fleet of 11 leased A320 aircraft, was set up in September, 2003 with Indigo Partners, an US equity firm, as its main investor.
