May 9, 2007 (newstodate): Line maintenance services for Air Bridge Cargo, ABC, in Shanghai and Moscow are now being provided by Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Corp, Ameco.
The five year contract include aircraft release services for ABC's Boeing 747-200Fs, and IA check will also be carried out on a 747-200F.
Ameco is a 60-40 joint venture between Air China and Lufthansa. The company's senior marketing and sales director Jan Butzmann said the new contract is the first work it has done for ABC but that the door is also open for base maintenance work.
He added Ameco is focussing on the rapidly
expanding Russian market and that in recent years it has also carried out maintenance work for Transaero, Aeroflot, Tesis as well as for Air Astana, Kazakhstan, and Aerosvit Airlines, Ukraine.
Ameco also recently signed a five year heavy maintenance agreement to support Boeing 747 aircraft, including freighters operated by Air Atlanta Icelandic.
