Apr 19, 2007 (newstodate): The Ukrainean transport ministry has identified seven Ukrainean airport to be modernised and upgraded to comply with world standards within the coming period.
The airports are Dnepropetrovsk, Donets, Kharkov, Kiev Zhulyany, Lvov, Odessa, and Simferopol.
The ministry also states that there are no immediate plans for provatisation of any of these airport, and investments for the coming reconstruction works will either be carried by regional and local governments, or referred to central funding.
The airport will need new or reconstructed runways, navaids, terminals and other infrastructural elements.
A final decision on these program is expected with this year.
