Apr 23, 2007 (newstodate): The official cargo statistics from Stockholm Arlanda are still incomplete, but based on other sources a realistic picture of cargo volumes during Q1 is emerging.
-Compiling all available data, Stockholm Arlanda Airport generated a total of 43,261 tonnes of air cargo in January-March, 2007, says Bjorn Ragnebrink, LFV Director Business Development, Intercontinental Routes & Cargo.
-During the same period last year the volumes were 35,227 tonnes, so we can see a 22.7 percent increase in 2007.
According to Mr Ragnebrink, the publication of reliable and continuous statistics is now expected to be introduced from this summer.
The significant growth in cargo volumes in 2007 reflects the aiport's recent success in attracting Boeing 747-400F freighter services from Korean Airlines Cargo, China Airlines Cargo, Cathay Pacific Cargo, and Jade Air Cargo.
