Apr 2, 2007 (newstodate): Russia's first succesful commercial aircraft project for decades, the Sukhoi SuperJet-100 claims to be close to 100 firm orders.
The order book should contain firm orders for 30 SuperJet-100 aircraft from Aeroflot, 15 from AirUnion, six from DalAvia, and 10 from IFLC.
The manufacturer claims that a further 24 firm orders from Aeroflot-Nord and GTK Rossiya are expected shortly, bringing the total close to 100.
Also the Hungarian carrier, recently taken over by the Russian-Hungarian company AirBridge Zrt, has signed an MoU with the Russian airline alliance AiRUnion to take an unspecified number of SuperJet-100 aircraft, making it the first European airline to manifest its interest in the aircraft.
