Apr 17, 2007 (newstodate): Latest statistics from Iceland's Keflavik Airport show a modest decrease in volumes in March.
In total the airport generated 5,884 tonnes of airfreight, down 1.8 percent y-o-y.
Exports were 3,296 tonnes, down 7.7 percent, and imports were 2,588 tonnes, up 6.8 percent.
During January-March the airport generated 15,856 tonnes of freight, an increase by 1.4 percent.
The airport statistics, however, do not single out transfer cargo, counting all incoming and outgoing freight without distinction. Transfer volumes are thus counted twice in the statistics.
