Apr 10, 2007 (newstodate): Polish LOT is preparing for the opening of its first New York service from a regional airport.
Beginning June 3, the carrier will operate from Rzeszow to New York with Boeing 767 aircraft.
A project group comprising representatives from LOT and airport and regional authorities was formed in 2006, and Rseszow in south-eastern Poland was selected as the site for the new twice-weekly LOT service.
Rzeszow Airport, currently served by LOT and Ryanair, received its Airport Certification at the end of June 2006 and has Poland's second-longest runway, 3,200 m
