Apr 3, 2007 (newstodate): During the period 2006-2012, Norway's export airfreight volumes are expected to grow by 4.1 percent p.a. according to an airline study.
In 2006 Norway generated a total of 74,162 tonnes of export airfreight, notably fresh salmon, and this is expected to grow to about 78,500 tonnes in 2007, reaching 94,500 tonnes by 2012.
The bulk of Norway's exports is destined for the Asian region, counting 48,630 tonnes in 2006, and expected to grow by 4.3 percent to nearly 63,000 tonnes in 2012.
North Atlantic volumes, 10,000 tonnes in 2006, will grow only 3.6 percent annually to reach some 12,500 tonnes in 2012.
European airfreight will grow by 2.9 percent annually, from 9,500 tonnes in 2006 to 11,000 tonnes in 2012.
