Apr 4, 2007 (newstodate): On April 2, Icelandair Cargo returned to Sweden's Norrkoping Airport with a load of Icelandic horses after a long suspension of operations.
The traffic was halted since 2005 as the airport did not meet the standards of a regular certified EU BIP.
On March 6, 2007, the certification process was completed and the BIP status confirmed, allowing the airport to handle imports of a/o live animals.
The airport expects 10-12 annual Icelandair Cargo flights with horses for the Swedish and Finnish markets.
