High on the list of priorities is upgrading of its runway lighting and ILS systems as well as resurfacing of its runway and taxiways.
In 2006 the airport handled a total of 25,000 passengers, primarily on routes betweeen Andizhan and Moscow and Krasnoyarsk, and flights to Moscow via Nukus.
