Mar 6, 2007 (newstodate): Swedish provider of airport ground movements control and management systems, SafeGate has landed a spectacular order from China's Beijing International Airport.
The order comprising more than 100 units was won in a tender, where SafeGate came out the winner over competitors Siemens and Honeywell that had earlier provided systems to the airport.
SafeGate will deliver its Advanced Visual Docking Guidance Systems to guide the aircraft during its approach to the docking position in a smooth, safe and efficient way, as well as SafeGate's SafeControl system that provides ATC staff with a full overview and management of actual lighting systems performance of the airport's runway and taxiway lighting systems down to the individual lamp or diode in a system that comprises more than 23,000 units.
Deliveries will start by mid-April and be completed by September.
-Safegate has delivered systems to Chinese airport for the last ten years, but this is by far the largest order ever landed across our entire global marketplace, says Jesper Svensson, SafeGate marketing manager.
