Mar 8, 2007 (newstodate): In 2006, the Slovenian carrier Adria Airways generated a total of 4,180 tonnes of cargo.
This was an increase by 48 percent, y-o-y, reflecting the carrier's intensified focus on air cargo including the acquisition of its second SAAB 340 freighter.
In 2006 Adria Airways launched its freighter services connecting Frankfurt, Liege, Zagreb, Sarajevo and Belgrade, and plans are now to add freighter operations in 2007 to Podgorica in Montenegro, Sofia and Istanbul.
The carrier says it has no plans to add further freighter capacity this year.
