Mar 8, 2007 (newstodate): If airlines are really dissatisfied with the growth of e-bookings vs. manual bookings - why do they not introduce a "service fee" on manual bookings as did their passenger departments long ago.
-In February we noted an increase by 16 percent in the volume of electronic bookings, says Ulrik Marschall, SAS Cargo communications manager.
-We are currently working to make our electronic booking systems even more attractive. So as for now we have no intentions to introduce a service fee on manual bookings.
-Even if a service fee has been succesful in the passenger departments, our customer profiles are obviously very different from theirs.
-We also note a significant increase in the proportion of electronic bookings since our entry into the CPS booking portal by autumn 2006, and in 2007 we will introduce a new system from which customers can book and confirm shipments as well as prepare and print AWBs and labels etc directly from our websites, says Mr Marschall.
