Mar 7, 2007 (newstodate): During the first two months of 2007, Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport saw its cargo volumes up by a meagre three percent.
The modest statistical growth was due to the shortfall in 2007 of the Lufthansa Cargo, Japan Airlines Cargo freighter service from Oslo to Nagoya that was established in September, 2005.
In January-February, Oslo generated 11,238 tonnes of cargo, comprising imports, up 22 percent to 2,348 tonnes, and exports, down 10 percent to 2,486 tonnes.
During the same period, the airport handled a total of 5,141 tonnes of mail, up 59 percent y-o-y.
