Mar 15, 2007 (newstodate): In 2006, Malev announced its decision to strengthen its long-haul aircraft fleet. The first of three Boeing 767-300 is now on the approach.
The carrier will thus soon take delivery of an ex-KLM Boeing 767-300, to be followed by two more similar aircraft in 2008 and 2009,respectively - all on leasing contracts.
The carrier currently operates two Boeing 767-200 aircraft that will be phased out after this year's summer program.
With the replacement, Malev will gain longer range, as well as more passenger and air cargo capacity on its intercontinental routes
