Mar 21, 2007 (newstodate): The Serb carrier JAT Airways has awarded SITA a six-year, multi-million dollar contract to provide the airline with network and system integration services across 28 sites worldwide.
JAT provides international passenger and cargo services to 36 destinations in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, as well as regional services in South East Europe. The airline needed a solution to help it to be more cost-effective and to beat off stiff competition across its route network which was used by over one million passengers last year.
Once the solution is fully deployed within about 10 months, JAT will benefit from an ERP solution and a hybrid network infrastructure which includes an IP VPN connectivity at their headquarters and lower cost DSL access across 28 remote sites worldwide.
