Talks are now going on in Vienna between the carrier's president, GECAS and Austrian Airlines.
The carrier already operates one similar aircraft and plans to expand routes, including to Europe, with the lease of the new aircraft.
Georgian National Airlines also says it will build up a fleet with more CRJ aircraft in cooperation with Austrian Airlines and GECAS.
