Mar 7, 2007 (newstodate): The new, independent company Aeroflot Cargo is planning to open a new regional hub in Khabarovsk, and develop the existing hub in Novosibirsk.
Preparations are now being made to set up express consignment trucking from these regional centres to required domestic destinations.
The surface delivery network now underway comprises routes from Khabarovsk to Petropavlovsk Kamchatskiy, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Yakutsk, Magadan, Komsomolsk-on-Amure, Blagoveshchensk, and Vladivostok.
From Novosibirsk the network will initially comprise routes to Omsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Barnaul, Krasnoyarsk, and Irkutsk.
The establishment of these two new houbs with scheduled delivery network is part of Artoflot Cargo's strategy to introduce a nationwide Russian air cargo system with freighter flights from Moscow into the selected hubs.
