Mar 6, 2007 (newstodate): UPS has now reportedly cancelled its order for the Airbus A380 freighter, leaving Airbus' A380F order book empty.
The decision by UPS follows on Airbus' announcement that resources invested in work on the freighter program will be directed instead to the A380 passenger aircraft program that is now delayed by two years.
Airbus, however, has also said the freighter program is suspended, not cancelled.
Only a year ago, Airbus had firm orders for a total of 27 A380F, including 10 for FedEx, two for Emirates SkyCargo, five for IFLC, and 10 for UPS, besides a number of options.
