Mar 5, 2007 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic, member of the SAS Group, has high ambitions for new destinations to be added in 2007.
During the summer 2007, airBaltic will start operations to Hereklion, Crete, Monastir, Palma Mallorca, Larnaca, Rome, Athens, Dubai, Stavanger, Gomel, and will increase frequency of flights to Paris, Barcelona, Moscow, Hamburg, Berlin, Kiev, Tel Aviv, Odessa, Stockholm, Minsk, Brussels, St Petersburg, Tbilisi and Milan.
From Vilnius, Lithuania, airBaltic will open new flights to Brussels, Zurich, Milan and Rome.
The expanded network and increased frequencies will require adding new aircraft capacity to the flet that currently consists of eight Boeing 737-500 and eight Fokker 50 aircraft.
