Feb 27, 2007 (newstodate): WFS Denmark at Copenhagen Airport considers 2007 to be a year of consolidation, but is already planning for a phased expansion.
-After we took in Korean Air Cargo from January 1, 2007, I do not expect us to open up to new major customers, and we would indeed not be able to handle a new freighter airline customer at our current 7,000 sq m facility at Copenhagen, says Marc Clasen, WFS manager Benelux and Denmark.
-Our main focus in 2007 will be on securing the quality in service towards our existing airline clients while preparing for our next move that will of coure also require the approval by the WFS board.
The WFS terminal, designed for a maximum of 60,000 tonnes anually, started operations on May 2, 2006, and now handles British Airways World Cargo, Delta Air Lines and Continental Airlines, KLM Cargo and KLM Cargo's trucking, Air France Cargo, Air China Cargo, and Alitalia Cargo as well as Leisure Cargo, Norwegian, and Korean Air Cargo.
According to Mr Claesen, construction work on the next phase of the cargo terminal at Copenhagen might start by the end of this year, but more likely in 2008.
