Feb 22, 2007 (newstodate): The new Integrated Air Traffic Control Centre in Jenec near Prague is now fully operational, with cut-over on February 18.
The first flight serviced from the new centre was a Dutch KLM aircraft, flying from Amsterdam to Dubai.
The transition itself was preceded by parallel operation from the previous sites located in the Technical block at Prague Ruzyne Airport and from the new centre in December 2006 and twice in January 2007.
During the transition the capacity of the particular sectors of airspace was decreased to a half; in cooperation with EUROCONTROL Central Flow Management Unit in Brussels strategic measures were applied. Currently, the capacity of the sectors is being gradually increased to their original volume.
