Feb 6, 2007 (newstodate): Despite somewhat conflicting statistical evidence, it seems certain that Moscow's Domodedovo Airport clearly outbeat Sheremetyevo Airport in cargo volumes and trends in 2006.
According to the latest figures, Moscow Sheremetyevo saw a total of 110,887 tonnes of air cargo in 2006, down 7.2 percent y-o-y.
By contrast Moscow Domodedovo Airport saw its cargo volumes rising by 8.9 percent, to a total of 126,300 tonnes.
In 2005, Moscow's third international airport, Vnukovo, reported a total of 19,677 tonnes of airfreight, and so far no figures for 2006 have been released.
