Feb 28, 2007 (newstodate): Uzbekistan Airways plans to lease up to ten medium-range Western-built aircraft this year.
The carrier is currently evaluating Boeing-737-800 against Airbus-320 before a decision is made within a few months.
The carrier's fleet now comprises four Boeing 767-300, six Boeing 757-200, three A-310, and three RJ-85 aircraft, and plans are to remove all ageing Soviet-built aircraft from service.
Uzbekistan Airways operates three TU-154M, six An-24 and Yak-40 and one new IL-114-100, and will receive three more IL-114-100 by the end of 2007, and one in 2008.
