Feb 26, 2007 (newstodate): The Lithuanian carrier DOT, owned by the Danish carrier DAT, is planning for a fleet expansion in 2007.
-Today we will sign a contract for our second SAAB 340 aircraft, and after this summer we hope to have found a suitable Fokker 100 aircraft, which is certainly hard to find at a fair quality/price ratio, says Evaldas Petkus, DOT CEO.
-Our currently single SAAB 340 is operated on our route to Billund, and also in the fleet are four ATR-42 aircraft, two in passenger configuration, and two pure freighters.
-One of the freighters flies on a contract with West Air Sweden on Scandinavian postal routes, and the other operates for the Croatian carrier Trade Air that uses it under a contract with DHL in the region.
-Expect for the Billund route, all our operations are thus outside Lithuania, but with our second SAAB 340 we might consider various options, says Mr Petkus.
