Feb 8, 2007 (newstodate): The joint Russian-Ukrainian aircraft project, AN-148 is planned to complete its EU certification by 2008, paving the way for marketing of the aircraft in EU and other western markets.
It is expected to compete effectively in the regional segments with Bombardier and Embraer aircraft types, also at lower price levels.
The manufacturer plans to complete six AN-148 aircraft in 2007, and 20 in 2008, and so far the AN-148 has snatched up to 50 ordres from Russian and CIS operators.
