Dec 3, 2007 (newstodate): The growth rate in cargo volumes at Denmark's Billund Airport is sliding against last year due to receding import volumes.
In January-November the airport generated a total of 54,512 tonnes of cargo, up 5.7 y-o-y.
During 2006, the airport handled 55,986 tonnes of cargo, but increasing 7.5 percent y-o-y.
During January-November, import volumes slipped 3.7 percent y-o-y, to 24,220 tonnes, compared to a 14.8 percent growth in export volumes, to 30,292 tonnes.
In November the airport handled a total of 5,025 tonnes of cargo, down two percent, y-o-y, after a drop in imports by 13.5 percent to 2,191 tonnes, while export volumes were up 9.4 percent to 2,834 tonnes.
