Nov 14, 2007 (newstodate): So far, 2007 has been a good year for Swedish cargo handling company, Cargo Center at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
-The arrival at Stockholm Arlanda of Korean Airlines Cargo, Cathay Pacific Cargo and Jade Airlines that are all Cargo Center customers has provided a strong boost to our business, says Lars Keding, Cargo Center managing director.
-Despite this strong increase in cargo volumes we have managed to keep our workforce practically unchanged, thanks to the fact that the handling of these airlines is spread over the week, creating limited stress on operations.
-This also means that little additional investment in facilities or equipment is needed, and cargo for these airlines arrive fully palletised by truck that are kept landside.
-We do not plan any major expansion in the foreseeable future to our current 11,500 sq m of terminal space, and the extra cargo flow has only required some additional 500 sq m floor space to house certain new equipment, says Mr Keding.
