Nov 29, 2007 (newstodate): By next spring, Serbia's Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport expects to reach CAT III status.
The project is advancing fast, but the airport management foresees that the entire procedure cannot be completed before spring. Until then, Category II shall apply, which allows landing under low visibility condition not less than 350 meters.
Implementation of CAT IIIb will enable take-off and landing under conditions of extremely low visibility down to 50 meters along the runway.
