Nov 27, 2007 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Transaero is planning further expansion of aircraft fleet and route network.
The carrier is currently taking delivery of its first Boeing 747-400 aircraft, formerly operated by South African Airways.
Transaero was Russia's first airline to introduce the Boeing 747 in 2005 and now has 10 Boeing 747-200 and -300 aircraft in its fleet.
In 2008, Transaero will launch new flights to Los Angeles and New York, and new routes to be launched before the end of this year include flights from Moscow Domodedovo to Basle, to Hong Kong and Sydney, to Jo'burg and Mauritius, and from St Petersburg to Frankfurt.
