Nov 2, 2007 (newstodate): Russia's provider of air navigational services, Rosaeronavigatsiya has increased its charges with effect from November 1, 2007.
The latest increase is 8.3 percent, following on a nine percent increase introduced by February 15, 2007, and charges are now calculated in Russian Rubles instead of as earlier in US dollars to hedge against the impact from declining US dollar exchange rates.
The charges are calculated on the basis of 100 km flight in Russian airspace, and differentiated between foreign and Russian airlines.
Thus foreign airlines now have to pay 1,900 Rubles per module, while Russian airlines pay only 476 Rubles, all charges based on MTOW up to 100 tonnes.
