Nov 28, 2007 (newstodate): Finnair has set up a new independent company, Finnair Cargo Terminal Operations, from November 1, 2007.
The new company is 100 percent owned by Finnair Group, not Finnair Cargo, but its management remains unchanged after the separation from Finnair Cargo, with Antero Lahtinen as its managing director.
The new company construction may be a prelude to a long-awaited final decision on the construction of a new Finnair cargo terminal at Helsinki Airport.
The establishment of the new company could also pave the road for a partnership in cargo terminal handling with an international partner, but so far Finnair Cargo and Finnair has refused to give any comment on these issues.
