Nov 22, 2007 (newstodate): Taking effect from November 26, 2007, Cargolux Airlines International S.A. has announced the opening of Atyrau as its second gateway in Kazakhstan.
Cargolux made its first entry into the Kazakh market with flights to Almaty from August this year.
The new flight is operated from Luxembourg via Baku, Azerbaijan, continuing to Shanghai after its landing at Atyrau.
The operation to Atyrau is launched in cooperation with Silk Way Airlines of Baku, Azerbaijan, and is mainly driven by export shipments of equipment for the oil drilling and energy sector in Western Kazakhstan.
From Atyrau, Cargolux provides connecting trucking services to Aktau, Aktobe and Uralsk.
In Kazakhstan, Cargolux is represented by its GSA , Nomad Cargo and handling partner Air Cargo Service.
