Nov 13, 2007 (newstodate): Boeing's new long-haul aircraft, 787 Dreamliner is on firm ground counting order totals.
With the latest orders fetched at the on-going Dubai Air Show, the aircraft has logged a total of 738 orders from 51 customers.
The entry-into-service of the Dreamliner is slated for 2008, although the production of the aircraft has run into delay, postponing its first flight by around six months.
By comparison the Airbus alternative, Airbus A350 XWB, has now booked 296 firm orders from 11 customers, and the entry-into-service is slated for 2013.
Lately, however, massive orders from Emirates and DAE Capital have boosted the Airbus A350 sales figues, indicating a steep rise in the markets' confidence in the Airbus aircraft.
