Nov 13, 2007 (newstodate): Meinl Airports International has obtained 10.1 percent of the stakes in the Turkish TAV Airports Holding.
TAV manages seven airport including the Turkish Istanbul Ataturk Airport, Ankara Airport and Izmir Airport, as well as Georgia's airports at Tblisi and Batumi and two airports in Tunisia.
The acquisitions is part of Meinl's strategy of expansion in regions including Russia and Eastern Europe.
In September, 2007, Meinl Airport International acquired a 100 percent stake in the Mukhino Airport in Ulan Ude, Russia, and is also now looking into the acquisition of a share in Poland's Bydgoscz Airport.
