Oct 23, 2007 (newstodate): To meet increasing demands for air transportation in Poland, many airport projects are under consideration.
During the last two years, the volume of air passnger transportation in Poland has increased by 60 percent, putting strong presure on the country's existing main airports, primarily Warsaw Okecie Airport.
Among 27 airport projects now being considered are construction of new airports at Lublin-Niedzwiada, Modlin, Sochaczew, and Minsk Mazowiecki, and on the Baltic Sea coast Gdynia plans to upgrade the Babie Doly Airport.
Also five new local airports are in the planning stage.
