Oct 22, 2007 (newstodate): Thanks to its salmon exports, Norway is Scandinavia's largest IATA market for air cargo exports to China.
During this year's first three quarters Norway generated 10,187 tonnes of cargo exports to China on IATA carriers, corresponding to 48 percent of the Scandinavian totals.
This was an increase by 53.6 percent, y-o-y.
Second came Sweden with 6,298 tonnes of cargo for China, up 6.7 percent, and constituting 30 percent of the total Scandinavian volume.
Denmark ranked 3rd with 4,578 tonnes, up 25.6 percent, and representing 22 percent of the totals.
Incrased competition from a growing number of carriers serving the Scandinavian markets, however, drove turnover from the China-traffic down.
In the Swedish market the turnover fell 16.5 percent, y-o-y, in the Danish market the fall was 11 percent, while the China-export IATA turnover in the Norwegian market was up 15.7 percent.
