Oct 30, 2007 (newstodate): Khabarovsk Airport has reportedly cut the ground under several Russian and other operators by limiting flight operations with western-built aircraft during the winter season.
The airport claims lack of adequate safety and rescue equipement as the cause of the limitations imposed from the start of this winter's program.
Among the airlines hit are S7 Siberia Airlines, VIM-Avia, Transaero, Sakhalin Aviatrassy, and Asiana.
Exempted from the limitations are operations with freighter aircraft.
AirBridge Cargo and Aeroflot Cargo operate DC-10 and Boeing 747 freighters into Khabarovsk, and these operations will not be affected.
